My story

Rangers are Africa’s unsung heroes. They hold diverse roles as conservationists, teachers, community support workers, leaders and much more.

The Wildlife Ranger Challenge, organised by Tusk, is a celebration of solidarity, connection and camaraderie for the ranger profession. culminating on 16th September 2023, the campaign raises vital funds for Africa's biodiversity guardians.

At Lion Landscapes - Mpala Conservancy & Research Centre, rangers monitor the ranch to make sure that things are running smoothly. Mpala rangers work closely with KWS to make sure the wildlife is well taken care of and stays healthy. The importance of this region is that little of it is formally protected, yet wildlife abundance is second in Kenya only to the renowned Maasai Mara Reserve. The Wildlife Ranger Challenge has been of help to our rangers as they have been able to participate in various events and challenges organised by this program. They have also been able to fundraise for the purchase of items that will help them in the field.

It is very crucial for the rangers to be in the field to protect our wildlife. Equipping the ranger with motorbikes to traverse the vast landscape will be of great help. They might also require solar powered lamps to help them during night time in case anything happens out there in the field. Portable first aid kits will also be of great help in case anyone is injured while working.

Give today and the Scheinberg Relief Fund will match every dollar donated, amplifying your impact. Join us in speaking up #ForWildlifeRangers

The WRC is an yearly event that brings many ranger teams out there in the field to be able to interact and learn from each other. We hope that this initiative will continue and our rangers will benefit annually from this initiative.
